First Draft Is Done

I had this crazy idea when I moved to Florida.  I thought it meant the end of cold and the flu for me. You see, 90% of the times I've been sick, it was during the winter.  And winter for me always meant cold temperatures, snow, and ice.  So I always associated colds with ... well ... the cold.

It's understandable then that when I woke up this morning feeling like death warmed over, I was utterly confused.  How could I be sick?  It was 70 outside and headed to 83.

Yeah, well... obviously cold incubate just as well in the heat as they do in the cold.  I am blaming this illness on some visitors from Baltimore, but that's neither here nor there.  With any luck, the worst of this will pass tonight and I'll be back to my somewhat "normal" self by the weekend.

On the plus side, I finished the first draft of the third and final book in the Asylum Tales.  It has been turned in to my editor.  I know that there's a pre-order page up on Amazon for a new untitled book.  We don't have a title for the book yet.  Yep., that's usually one of the last things I come up with.  Also, I don't know if that's the official release date yet.  These things occasionally change, but I will keep you updated.

While I'm not feeling quite well enough to string more than a handful of sentences together, I am going through my massive collection of half-finished books to figure out what I want to work on next.  I've got several where if I just write 1000 words per day for the next 2 months, I'll have another book finished.  Let's see if I can do it!

Keep warm.  Drink your vitamin C.  And happy reading.

Oh nice! Congrats on finishing the first draft! Bummed to hear you're feeling under the weather. Maybe it was your body's delayed reaction to the climate change. It was pretty drastic. What was it, teens?-twenties? up north and now you're in nearly 80 degree weather?

That could be it. I get the occasional cold when our weather changes dramatically like that and I live in St. Louis. Which is home for the crazy weather! We had snow barreling down on May 1 or 2 last year and that was the first time that I ever remembered that happening!

Okay, technically that was Kansas City, MO when I was at RT, but I thought my family back home said that they were getting the same!

Hope you have a speedy recovery to enjoy your weekend!

Thanks! I'm mostly better. I just haven't been able to shake the last of this stupid cough. At least I'm back to normal function now. Have a great weekend!
