It was a lackluster weekend. The ballet on Friday was fantastic, which I totally expected. The Cincinnati Ballet always puts on an amazing performance and provides a pleasant surprise or two.
Unfortunately, things were kind of downhill from there. My Valentine's gift was another broken laptop. Last year, I suffered some massive computer-related trauma and it seems that my relatively new laptop is giving me some software-related problems. But don't worry, my editor has temporarily solved that problem by sending me the copyedits for Dawnbreaker. This is a huge pile of papers that needs to be edited one by precious one. I'm still waiting for some additional notes from my editor of things I need to be looking for.
Elsewhere, I got my carpet cleaned and cleaned out the kitty litter box -- at long last. The laundry didn't make it to the laundry room. Yeah, I wasn't that productive this weekend.
However, I did receive a smattering of really good news, but I'm reluctant to announce it in fear of jinxing it. I've been nominated for a P.E.A.R.L. (Paranormal Excellence Award for Romantic Literature) award for Best New Author. I'm up against some very stiff competition, so my hopes aren't too high. I've just excited that this wonderful group has noticed me and my Dark Days series. Keep your fingers crossed. They are announcing the winners Thursday evening.
Actually, I've got some more exciting news. Unbound --the anthology that I have a novella in -- and Dawnbreaker: The Third Book in the Dark Days Series are now both listed on Amazon.com for pre-ordering.
Unbound features Kim Harrison, Melissa Marr, Vicki Pettersson, Jeaniene Frost, and myself. It is slated for release on August 25.
Dawnbreaker will be released on September 29.
