More Release Goodness

So, I've been out and hit a few bookstores, signing what books they had in stock. I'll have to admit that I hesitated that over my first book. It's not that I didn't know what I was going to write. It was that I felt like I was defiling someone else's book. It took me years to get used to highlighting and marking passages in books during high school and college. To me, books are beautiful, magical things that should be protected and preserved. Not torn, burned, or written in. I've gotten better, but just the idea of writing in someone else's book was very strange.

It's also strange to think that someone will value my signature in their book. I mean, it's just little old me. But don't worry. I won't let my new-found "fame" go to my head. I may be an author now, but I'm the one who still has to do the dishes, and the laundry, and clean the kitty litter box when it's all said and done.

For those who still haven't been convinced that they need to buy Nightwalker, I have received a great review from The Book Smugglers. Please click on the link to check it out. Also, be sure to return to The Book Smugglers site tomorrow when they will post an interview that I recently gave.

In the meantime, I'm off to the grocery. I have to pick up a pile of miscellaneous stuff for the RWA conference. I'll be flying out to San Franciso tomorrow for lots of fun and insanity.

Hey Jocelynn :) Thanks for the linkage--and a late Happy Release Day to you!

On writing in books--I definitely feel ya. But, university (with all the highlighting and chicken scratch in the margins of used books and library borrows) definitely forced me to cowboy up.

WOW.

I just finished the book and it is absolutely amazing. Mira and Danaus just leap off the page and the plot was attention grabbing. I'm hooked! It's action packed and kept my attention the entire time. The world you've created is intricate and I love that it's told from Mira's point of view rather than Danaus. I'll admit that it would be nice to know Danaus' secrets but Mira is so much more fun to follow. I cannot wait for book 2!

I just wanted to add that I really enjoyed you and the other authors chat on the blogtalkradio tonight. :) It was great to hear your voice and hear the answers to those questions, and some of the discussion that also went along with it.
