Summer Days

One of my blog readers recently asked, "So Joce, what are your summer plans?"

Well, reader, my summer plans include lots of writing. And when I'm not writing, I'm going to be editing. My editor has warned me that she has finished reading book 2 (which she really liked) and I will be receiving my edit letter (which details all the things I missed, screwed up, or just simply need to change) later this week.

In the meantime, I am finishing my own edits of the Novella I've been working on. That will be sent out within the next few weeks. I will be editing that bad boy for my editor later this summer.

But just because I'm wild and crazy, I will also be writing book 3 this summer, which is officially due to my editor in October.

I imagine the reader is now thinking, "But Joce, you can't be this boring! You know, all work and no play make Jocey a dull girl."

First off, don't call me Jocey. I don't care for that nickname. Second, I do have a little fun planned. I will be attending the Foo Fighters concert on July 26 in Pittsburgh, PA and I'm hoping to sneak off to the Nine Inch Nails concert on August 31 in Lexington, KY.

I will also be heading out to the Romance Writers of America conference in San Francisco, CA from July 30 through August 2. The conference has a massive signing and it will be the first time that I've gotten to sign copies of my book. It will be very exciting and I can't wait. It will also give me the chance to hang out with Rachel Vincent and Vicki Pettersson, two very good friend who I don't get to see often enough. I haven't gone scouting yet to see who else I know will be at the conference, but it was lots of fun last year.

And if I am super lucky, I will be able to sneak down to Savannah, GA for a little book research in late summer/early fall.

So, as you can see, I have a pretty busy summer ahead of me. Gone are the days of lounging around, hanging by the pool, and reading dozens of books. Boy, I miss those days already.

That's awesome timing that RWA is immediately following the release of Nightwalker. You'll get great exposure there! :D

Ooh, RWA in SF! I might just happen to decide to take the BART up to SF that day to enjoy the bay air and some mini donuts, and RWA of course :) Thanks for answering my question on your blog! I love to hear what people have planned for their holidays.

Ack! Did you hear? Vicki's not going to RWA. Email her for details... ;-(
