Happy Anniversary!

Not too long after arriving at work this morning, I received a phone call from my father. He called to wish me a happy anniversary. Considering that I am quite unmarried, I was unsure of what anniversary he was referring to. Exactly one year ago today, I received my 3-book contract offer from Eos to publish my Dark Days series. My career as a published author started one year ago today.

I can’t believe that a year has already passed. It has been a whirl-wind of excitement, frustration, and lots of hard work. Looking back over the past year, we find that Nightwalker is just 6 weeks away from being released. I have been asked to take part in an anthology with Kim Harrison, Melissa Marr, Vicki Pettersson, and Jeaniene Frost. I have completed the second book in the Dark Days series and I’m currently working on the edits. I have finished the plot outline for Book 3. And with the dedication and support of my agent, editor, readers, and family – This is only the beginning!

In one other small bit of news, Eos Books is looking for Advanced Readers to post reviews of my book, Nightwalker. Unfortunately, this notice was posted a couple days ago and they are looking for only 10 readers. However, it never hurts to throw your name into the hat. You might be pleasantly surprised.

Good luck and be sure to check back soon! I think I’m going to run the cover flat contest next week and I’ve got more goodies to give away.

Jocelynn- I got a copy of Nightwalker at a book expo held at my company's yearly meeting in April. I had packed it among all the other books I got, and somehow it was misplaced. I came across it yesterday (thank God!), and Im already halfway through it.. I am totally hooked. Being a bookseller, I cant wait to start recommending it to my customers. I love vampire novels, and this one has already earned its placed among my top favorites. Happy Anniversary- and Im looking foward to many more... and many more Dark Days novels!!

I didn't know where else to post this..so sorry! You can delete it once you read it, i'm just passing it around to people:

Hello:

You may or may not have heard from us in the recent past, but we are writing again to fully explain this idea. I’m from an online blog called Shooting Stars and we are working on a project. You see, I had hoped that if we were able to use a site and make a book and if people bought it, we’d make some money off of it…so we could give about half the proceeds away. I didn’t say anything because I wasn’t sure if that was how it would work, but I’ve decided that it should and if not, I’ll try and find a way!

Basically, we want as many people to answer this question:

“If you could wish on a shooting star, what would you wish for and why?”

We’ll include all the answers into a little book and allow people to purchase them using a self-publishing site. If we make any money off of it, we hope to donate at least half the proceeds to St. Jude’s Medical Center, a place I’ve been keen about for awhile.

So, you simply need to answer the above question, include your full name, and credit (student, singer, musician, author, etc.) if you have one!

Please spread the word. We want submissions from anyone and everyone!

Thank you for your time and we appreciate the help!
Kind Regards,
Lauren

P.S. If you are an author, please feel free to write a wish for a character...just include their name and the book they are from.

P.S.S. Promotion opportunities on blog here!

Zander: Thanks so much! It is always wonderful to hear that people like Mira and Danaus. They are very close to my heart and I want people to love them as much as I do. Thanks for your support!

Lauren: I'll see what I can do about answering your question. However, it may be a while. Edits have to come first!

Jocelynn: I completely understand! Feel free to take your time if you wish. And you don't have to answer at all, I just merely wanted to get the word out about the project.
