Saturday was a good productive day, I am happy to report. I rearranged my office so that all my bookshelves are now in here with me. While at first it felt a little crowded, I would have to say that it now feels cozy. I can look up from my computer and gaze at all the great writers that have produced amazing books. It makes me feel encouraged and a little less lonely when I'm working.
I completed two chapters yesterday. One needed only a light polish while the second was a heavy rewrite that ended up adding more than five new pages. And I am very happy with those five new pages as it creates more Mira and Danaus time.
Today will not be as productive, but I am hoping to sneak in a chapter or two before I stumble off to bed. Fingers are crossed.
Next week is going to be a busy week. I have to get a large chunk of the book finished before I fly to New York on Thursday. After I check in the hotel, I have lunch with my agent, a mixer at my publisher, and then dinner with my editor. Then on Friday, it's a panel and book signing at ComicCon. I doubt that I will have the chance to see any panels, but I am going to try to wander the floor and pick up some free stuff if I can. I love ComicCon free stuff! On Saturday, I stumble home again and return to the business of finishing up the book.
OH! And I am happy report that I have seen a preliminary version of the BURN THE NIGHT cover and IT IS AMAZING! I hate to tease since I can't show it, but I will say that this one is now my favorite. No contest. Favorite. I will probably be allowed to release the cover sometime in the Spring. Sorry.
