I made some serious progress on my revision of BURN THE NIGHT today and I still have ample time to continue, but I think it's time to take a step back. I will be adding two brand new chapters before diving back into some existing chapters. In the two new chapters, we will revisit a character that was last seen in Pray for Dawn and I will be introducing a character that I've talked about a lot, but never actually shown. I've known this character since almost the first page of Nightwalker, but could never work this person into the book. There has been some very interesting speculation about this character on my discussion board and it's very tempting to follow their speculation, but I've got another direction for this person. That's just the way it works sometimes.
I'm reaching the home stretch for the book. If I'm lucky, I might actually get most of the two new chapters done before I leave for New York on Thursday. After that point, the only heavy lifting that will be left will be the revision of the two final battle scenes of the book. One needs to be revised and the other needs to be written from scratch.
In the meantime, I suggest stopping by Paper Cut Reviews this week and next week. The blog is being dedicated to all things Nightwalker during the next few days. It's a place to speculate on Mira, Danaus, and the series. Tomorrow, an interview I completed will be posted. Stop by and leave some comments! Click here to see the site.
And before I forget, Richard Kadrey's Kill the Dead hit the shelves today. This book is the sequel to his amazing Sandman Slim. I definitely suggest picking up this book along with Sandman Slim. I haven't read Kill the Dead yet, but it's on the top of my list the second I get my revisions completed.
