Inching Closer

Are we all just crawling on our bellies across the hot desert sand to our respective deadlines right now?

That's what it certainly feels like. Fans of the Dark Days series are patiently counting down the last days until the release of Pray for Dawn. There are a handful of readers who are now patiently waiting for the release of Wait of Dusk now that they've gotten an early sneak peek at Pray for Dawn. I'm patiently waiting for the first of the reviews of Pray for Dawn to appear on the internet (while pacing the floor). And finally, I'm inching closer to my deadline for Book 6. May has proven to be an intense month, but it's looking like I will be able to finish Book 6 next week, which should help to take some of the pressure off my shoulders. My next task will be clean up of the book and a synopsis of the next books in the Dark Days series.

I succeeded in getting a large chunk of writing done yesterday, making for a feel-good productive day. I'm hoping to wrack up one more of those today as I close in on the 100K mark for the book. I still can't gauge whether this one is going to run long or not. At this point, it doesn't look like it's going to be short. There are still too many things that need to happen and then there's the epic final battle scene for the book. Yeah, I still need to outline that monster in my head, but I'll get there.

In the meantime, I have to take a break from writing to hit the gym. I've got a session with my personal trainer and we're attacking my legs and core today. Immediately after that, I have a private session with another teacher who is giving me MMA fighting lessons. Considering that my legs will be exhausted, most of our focus will be on punching. This is my second week of lessons and I'm still asking more questions than throwing punches, but I'm sure that will change soon.

Finally, I won't be around this weekend. I'll be headed to Columbus, Ohio for the Rock on the Range concert. It's going to be AWESOME! I'm dying to see nearly every band on the main stage and a handful on the other stages. It's supposed to rain on Saturday, making for a muddy mess, while Sunday is supposed to be hot and sunny.

Have a great weekend!

First of all, I want to hear ALL about the concert when you get back. Wow, I love Seether especially. What cool bands:)

I had a friend who took kickboxing and not only did she way it was great for stress, but she really shaped up. She ended up buying a bag for her basement. I think punching will really shape up your upper body.

We are having around 20 teens over Saturday night for a party and bonfire. My middle son is turned 16:)
