Stubborn Chapter Done

That stubborn, pain-in-the-butt chapter that I have been gnawing away at for the past few weeks is finally done! I managed to finish it this morning. It took only another 6 pages from where I left off last night so I am glad that I stopped where I did. I was also pleased/surprised by a comment that Mira made toward the end of the chapter. It was a cold, bitter reminder that Mira is still a very dark character at heart, despite some positive events that take place in her life in the preceding books.

At the moment, I have only 400 more words that I need to type to hit my minimum goal of 2,000 words for the day. I know that I used to be up to 4,000 words per day, but I'm trying to ease back into this writing thing. I'm still feeling a bit rusty and I'm trying not to push my hand too hard as I get back into the swing of things. I've crossed the 60,000-word mark and I am hoping to pass by the 200-page mark today, if not definitely tomorrow. I've noticed that after I hit the 200-page mark, it's a downhill rush toward the end. The book usually writes itself at that point and I'm struggling to keep up.

I'm glad it's Friday. I've got my usual personal trainer appointment at 1:30 pm. and then the rest of the day should be mine. It's sunny out, but still a little chilly. I don't know what's on the agenda just yet. I might try to get a little more writing done now that I am to the chapter that I have been looking forward to. It's a chapter I promised to write for my agent not long after she signed me as a client. Unfortunately, it took my six books to finally get to that scene. Besides writing, my only other plan for the weekend is to head to a local watering hole to catch the UFC fight and eat some bad-for-me food. (I'm practicing my bad-food-eating habits now for vacation.) If I'm lucky, I'll remember to start making some lists of things I need for vacation. It's just a handful of days away now.

Cool! Now that you have the chapter out of the way you'll just zoom through the rest:)

I used to try and pack every fricking little thing for vacations, and finally I realized that almost anywhere we would travel would have grocery stores and stores like Target etc. Now I try to relax, pack the things I KNOW we'll all need but not obsess over it. I swear I used to get so stressed I was a nervous wreck by time we actually left. LOL

Have fun if I don't get on here before you leave!
