Inching Along

I went to my training appointment yesterday and completed the dreaded measurements that need to be taken once a month. Few inches were lost here and there, but the results were not as strong as my trainer was expecting. So, we looked back over my schedule and decided to tweaked some of the exercises that I do for strength training and completely revamped by cardio workout. Apparently, I was getting my heart rate too high and I was burning the muscle that I was working so hard to create. Damn it! In the end, we’ve got a new game plan for March and I’m confident that we’re going to be more productive this month. That, and I made a wager between myself and my two trainers that has a July deadline. Just an added incentive for everyone.

Meanwhile, today is tax day for me as I meet with my tax accountant. Yet another thing I’m dreading. It’s always hard to estimate what I need to pay out each year in taxes ahead of them being due and I’m always afraid that I’m going to get a massive bill for the IRS come April 15. Luckily, royalties roll in just around that time, which helps with the pain.

Considering that I was disappointed with yesterday’s measurement results and it was just too busy at the gym to be comfortable, I was feeling a bit down on Tuesday so I didn’t write as many words as I should have. I only got 1,200 words done and that was added to a chapter that I had already “finished.”

Today is taxes, then gym, then a quick errand, and then I swear it’s all about writing. I think. In what little spare time I have, I am pulling together several playlists for the books and characters of the Dark Days series, which will be on the new web site when it’s finished. It looks like it’s going to take me several days of sifting through all my music to complete all the lists.

The new website will probably be launched in late spring, but it's still up in the air as I wait for approval on some things from my editor.
