Run! Revision Letter Coming

I received an email from my editor today confirming that my revision letter for Book 4 is going to be arriving in my inbox tomorrow. Yeah, just in time for the weekend!?! No, this is a good thing. I've had enough of a break from Book 4 that I should be able to look at it with a fresh set of eyes. My editor has made it sound like the book needs a lot of work, but that's pretty normal at this point. I learn a lesson with each book, but there always a new mistake waiting just around the corner for me.

Yesterday, I did receive a pleasant surprise in the mail. I got a pair of ARCs for the Unbound anthology. Whoo-hoo! They look so pretty and I can't wait for the rest of the world to get their hands on it. Since I received only two, I don't know if I will be holding a contest. I may check closer to the release of the book (which is at the end of August) to see if I can weasel another copy out of my publisher. Yeah, I'm sneaky like that.

I also booked my trip to North Carolina for June 12 and my tickets for the Nine Inch Nails/Jane's Addiction concert are on their way. Yeah! So, now I have a personal deadline of getting most of my revisions done before I leave for my little trip to Charlotte. That way I feel like I've earned it.

Finally, the writing of Book 5 is coming slowly. I'm dragging my feet a bit. I guess my mind is more focused on the revisions for Book 4 that I can't give my full attention to Book 5 just yet. That's okay. It's not due until October 1. Yikes!

You sound busy! Hopefully you'll be able to enjoy your upcoming vacation and not have to worry about so much.

So are revisions as hard as they sound? How much of the novel do you have to revise drastically? I only ask because I hope to be a writer someday soon, I have 1 year of college left to get my BA.

(EEK! I;ll have to get a real job other than my part-time one! Is bad to say I don't want to grow up when I am already 21?)

Can't wait for Unbound and Dawnbreaker!
