I'm doing an early mini-happy dance because I've got only 2 more chapters left to write for Book 4. I'm on track to get this book done early enough that I can actually get a couple edits done before handing it in to my editor ON TIME. Meeting my deadline is something that is very important to me on a professional and personal level.
I needed an extension in order to complete Dawnbreaker due to losing a chunk of my work in a hard drive meltdown. It was all very traumatic and I am eternally grateful to my editor and my agent for keeping me sane during that horrible event. It wasn't pretty at all. I think I've been scarred for life.
But, back to Book 4. I am very happy with its progress. I think it could be the best one I've written so far... or at least it will be once I'm done with the edits. There's a lot of emotional turmoil in this one along with some personal secrets revealed. I think it will be a nice switch in tone from Dawnbreaker as well. At the end of Dawnbreaker, I was very concerned by a direction that one character was headed. At the end of Book 4 (which still needs a freaking title -- stop by my discussion board and submit yout ideas), I was very pleased by another character's growth.
Meanwhile, I am happy to report that I heard from my publisher and it sounds like they are going to be able to dig up a couple more advanced copies of Dayhunter. With any luck, they will be arriving this week and I will ship them out again as soon as I possibly can. I'll keep you updated.
Finally, because my brother thinks I should post this because it's absolutely hilarous (and he's right, but don't tell him I said so). If you've never seen Mythbusters, it's a show that uses science to look into various myths and urban legends. It a pretty good show, particularly since they are really good at blowing stuff up. Here is just a quick little clip that's silly.
See, everyone needs a little silly in their day! Have a great night!
