Party Time

It's party time! During the past couple of months, my mother has been planning this massive party to celebrate the release of Nightwalker. This thing has grown to mammoth proportions so that there are now tents outside and a caterer bringing food. The only thing missing is a DJ and a photographer, and it will become the wedding she never got to throw for me.

I'm beginning to realize that I'm in denial about the whole thing, but even that is starting to wear off. I'm not a real big fan of crowds, which makes it a wonder that I attend two writing conferences every year. I'm a writer -- we're all introverts at heart, no matter how outgoing we seem. We've all chosen a career where we spend endless hours alone behind a computer. We're not the socializing type, right? Or maybe it's just me.

But this party is starting to make me nervous. We're estimating close to 100 people piling into my parent's house to eat food, drink alcohol, and wish me well. I'm going to need a drink or a paper bag.

In the meantime, it's back to the book. I've changed up my regular writing habit for this book. The bulk of Dayhunter was written from a spot on the sofa with the laptop. Now, I'm back behind my desk in the office with the desktop computer. I know it's all in my head, but it feels like the pages are rolling off my fingers a little faster.

And for those who have come to count on my weekend Muppets installment, here's you go:

Have a great weekend!

That's so wonderful that your mom wants to celebrate your success with a party! Having that kind of support is so important and not everyone is fortunate to have that in their life. Enjoy the party--you deserve it!

Maybe have a glass of wine before the guests start arriving. It may relax you. =)

Peace.
