A Hard Day's Night

...And I've been working like a dog...

Blame Scooby-Doo. The cartoon is on in the background and they made a Beetle's reference. I'm still in New York and it's cold. My day has been spent zipping around Midtown for a series of meetings. It's been a good trip and I've got one more meeting left before I can call it a day. I'm exhausted and I'm looking forward to heading home tomorrow afternoon. I've got a couple more pictures to show. The first is of a cool fountain not far from Radio City and the second is of my hotel room. I know it sounds sad, but curling up in bed to catch some Z's is really appealing right now.

I want to thank all the congrats I've received recently regarding the upcoming anthology. I am very excited. I even got the chance to talk to Kim Harrison for a few minutes today, who giggled excitedly with me. She's definitely looking forward to contributing a great story to this collection. She's been putting up with me for a few years now, as we've swapped writing woes and triumphs. I am very excited that we will be working together on a project.

For those curious about who I am and my work if you followed over from Jeaniene, Vicki, or Melissa, I am a new Urban Fantasy writer with HarperCollins under their Eos imprint. My books tend to be dark and violent, with a nice mix of sarcasm and irony. My first book, Nightwalker: A Dark Days Novel will be released at the end of July/beginning of August.

Below is the description that will be on the back cover of the novel:

For centuries Mira has been a nightwalker--an unstoppable enforcer for a mysterious organization that manipulates earth-shaking events from the darkest shadows. But elemental mastery over fire sets her apart from others of her night-prowling breed...and may be all that prevents her doom.

The foe she now faces is human: the vampire hunter called Danaus, who has already destroyed so many undead. For Mira, the time has come to hunt...or be hunted.

But in a dimension just beyond the world's boundaries, a banished race stirs dangerously, hungry for power, for domination, for vengeance. Already a protective seal has been breached: already blood flows like a river through the world's great cities.

And only the collaboration of two sworn enemies can save humankind...and its feral brethren.

Hang in there, when it comes for the work aspect. I bet it is exciting as well to meet new people that probably get to help you on future projects.

As for the blurb on the back cover. It is amazing and the story is great! I can't wait to read about a fire elementalist. They overflock the normal fantasy, but in urban fantasy the picture has to be pretty different.

Wow, I got shivers from reading that blurb! It sounds amazing, and now I'm even more excited for the book! Just a couple more months left to go! It seems so far away.
