I'm Moving ... Again

It's been in the works for a short time and required some interesting juggling, but I can now report/warn you that I am moving ... again.

You might be thinking, Didn't you just move?  Why, yes! Yes, I did.  In September 2012, my amazing husband helped back up a moving van and my little Mini, and we moved to Madison, Wisconsin for a new job.  I have enjoyed my time in Wisconsin.  I've met some wonderful people, learned a lot of interesting things, and seen some pretty cool stuff.  I've also learned some things about myself.  Such as, my sanity suffers significantly when winter last for 6 months.

Now, don't get me wrong.  I like snow.  I don't mind winter too much, though the temperature in Wisconsin was far colder than I've ever had to experience on a long-term basis.  But apparently when the snow arrives in December and doesn't leave until late April, I start to crack.. a bit.

By fall of this year, I decided that we needed to start looking south again.

After some interviewing, I managed to land a new job in South Florida.  Yes, the land of eternal summer!  No more snow for me.  Sure, I'm going to probably melt during the summer months, but there will be no more snow.  I think I need a break from the snow.

So, it's looking like the amazing husband and I are going to be packing up another moving van and moving south in later January to early February.  During the next couple months, we're going to be downsizing our things and looking for a new place to live.  As a result, I might not be around much during the next couple of months as I commute between Wisconsin and Florida and prepare to officially move.

But I'll keep you updated on all the fun and post pictures as we finally get south.

Also, since I going to a new state, I am looking for new places to sign books.  Do you know of any great bookstores between Orlando and Miami that I should visit?  I can stop by and sign some books for you!  I'm also taking suggestions for places that we absolutely must visit once we move to Florida.

Even through the moving and the chaos, I promise to keep writing.  I hope to have a couple new stories for you to read in 2014!

Girl, I hear you! Hubby and I are doing a real estate search in the Orlando area. I have put up with endless winter for 61 years and I am done! See you next year

Jessica @ a GREAT read said...

Oh nos! I kept hoping that one day there would be the perfect chance to go to a signing by you since I had relatives in Wisconsin! Oh well. The snow is not for everyone.

Missouri is only slightly better, except when it does snow everything goes into chaos! Takes forever for the roads to get cleared and it's all utter madness!

Another sob since Florida is so far away and I don't think I can manage a road trip that way!

Well, if all goes well, I hope to see you at RT this year! I did see your name in the search engine when I looked. SO please still come to NOLA! :)

Hope you have a smooth move and Happy Holidays Jocelynn!

Thanks Debi! The snow totally broke me. Just too much.

Thanks Jessica! I'm hoping to get out signing and attending conferences again soon. I don't currently have plans for NOLA, but since I'm going to be closer, that could change. I'll keep you updated on my blog. :)
