New Book Tuesday

I'm noticing that Halloween tends to bring the crazy out of me.  I'm not sure why, but I like it.

However, I'm going to sidle away from the crazy sauce today and talk about some more important things.  Books.   Yes, it's Tuesday and that means it's Book Release Day!  I love Book Release Day!  My wallet does not, but I do.  There are a lot of great books out today that you should be snatching up.  I'm not going to try to cover them all, because there's just too many.  I'm only going to list the series that I am currently following.

The Hollows Insider by Kim Harrison

New York Times bestselling author Kim Harrison has won legions of fans with her sexy supernatural novels featuring bounty-hunting witch Rachel Morgan. And now comes a unique look inside her beloved Hollows series that no fan should miss. . . . The Hollows Insider

In the Hollows, the supernatural Inderlanders rule, and humanity must abide by their conventions, or else.

To survive among vampires, witches, Weres, gargoyles, trolls, fairies, and banshees—to say nothing of demons—humanity needs a guide. And now, written by Kim Harrison herself, here is an insider’s look at the supernatural world of the Hollows, from an overarching new story to character profiles, maps, spell guides, charm recipes, secret correspondence from the elusive Trent Kalamack, and much more.

The Bite Before Christmas by Lynsay Sands and Jeaniene Frost

This holiday season, join two of today’s most popular paranormal authors for a special look into their worlds, where creatures are always stirring and no one sleeps through the night. . . . The Bite Before Christmas

The Gift by Lynsay Sands
Teddy Brunswick knows about the immortals among us. He’s worked with them, called them friend—but he never counted on being snowed in with one over Christmas. Katricia Argeneau is a tasty little bundle and she seems to feel the same way about him. Problem is, he’s not sure she feels quite the same way. After all, the snowstorm has derailed her blood delivery, which leaves him the only available meal on the menu. . . .

Home for the Holidays by Jeaniene Frost
Cat and Bones are looking forward to a normal holiday—at least as “normal” as it gets for the combustible vampire couple and their otherworldly friends and family. But their yuletide plans are shattered when a stranger shows up and reveals long-buried family secrets.

Ecstasy Untamed by Pamela Palmer

They are called Feral Warriors—an elite band of immortals who can change shape at will. Sworn to rid the world of evil, consumed by sorcery and seduction, their wild natures are primed for release . . .

Shattered by recent nightmarish events, Hawke feels his bond with his animal spirit weakening—and once it breaks, he’s finished. The arrival of Faith sends his life spinning even further out of control, for although she delights him and enflames his deepest primal passions, she’s promised to Maxim, the newest Feral Warrior.

Faith is drawn to Hawke from the start, but Maxim holds her in his thrall and has secretly bent her to his malevolent will. Though gravely damaged, Hawke is the only one who can end Faith’s slavery and protect the Feral Warriors from Maxim’s evil designs. But first they both must embrace the wild . . . and surrender body and soul to a forbidden, all-consuming ecstasy.

I'm a huge fan of the Hollows series by Kim Harrison but I have fallen behind in my reading.  However, I am looking forward to picking up this book (first editions glow in the dark!!).  I also love Lynsay Sands so I can't wait to get my hands on this book.  I haven't read Jeaniene's series yet, but I have three of her books on my TBR pile.  I promise to jump in soon.  I have also just started Pamela Palmer's Feral Warriors series and it is awesome.  I've devoured the first two books in three days.  I'll probably be finishing up the series this week.

Also, just a reminder, Richard Kadrey's Aloha from Hell came out last week.  It just arrived on my doorstep so I am torn between continuing with the Feral Warriors or returning to Sandman Slim.

Aloha from Hell by Richard Kadrey

Supernatural fantasy’s greatest anti-hero goes back to hell!

In Sandman Slim Stark came back from hell for revenge.

In Kill the Dead he tackled both a zombie plague and being Lucifer’s bodyguard.

Once again all is not right in L.A. Lucifer is back in Heaven, God is on vacation, and an insane killer mounts a war against both Heaven and Hell.

Stark’s got to head back down to his old stomping grounds in Hell to rescue his long lost love, stop an insane serial killer, prevent both Good and Evil from completely destroying each other, and stop the demonic Kissi from ruining the party for everyone.

Even for Sandman Slim, that’s a tall order. And it’s only the beginning.

And finally, here's a couple things to put on your radar.  Vicki Petterrson reported that her new book, The Taken is now available for pre-order on Amazon.  It's currently got a publication date of June 12.  This sent me searching  for my own book and lo and behold: TA-DA!  It's on Amazon for pre-order as well.  Right now, it is titled Angel Wings, but this could potentially change.  It also has a publication date of June 26, which should stay unchanged.
