The First Scent of Fall

I could feel it in the air today. The temperature had dropped to the low 70s and there was a steady rain falling throughout the day. The last days of summer are winding down and fall is nipping at its heels. Fall is my favorite time of year. The weather is comfortable to slightly cool, the trees are painted an array of colors, and everything seems to slow down just a little bit from the hectic pace of summer. Weekends are spent curled up on a lounge chair in the backyard with a glass of wine and a fire crackling just a few feet away.

But I can’t relax too much. The edit letter for my novella arrived. While short, the letter described some pretty heavy changes that need to be done. Wish me luck that I can accomplish a big chunk of it this weekend.

I totally agree with you on the whole fall thing. I can't wait for the temp to fall and stay in the low seventies and even lower at night. mmmm now I want s'mores.....

Lotsa luck so you can enjoy your weekend!

And it might be approaching fall, but CA sure doesn't know! I went to the Renaissance Faire yesterday and it was 100 degrees. Yech, can't wait for the temp to start dropping.
